The story behind Lockmaster
I’m Mike Kitson, the founder of Lockmaster. The company was born out of my own frustration at trying to find suitable gate openers for my business premises in Christchurch. There were no gate openers on the New Zealand market that I felt offered the quality and value for money I was looking for.
To put it bluntly, I felt all the automatic gate openers I looked at were over-priced.
After considerable research, I found a factory overseas making automatic gate openers that appeared to be exactly what I wanted – of high quality but affordably priced. I purchased some of these gate openers and installed them at my business premises. They came with step by step instructions, so the installation was straightforward for me to do myself.
I was so delighted with the performance of these gate openers, I realised there would be many other New Zealand home and business owners who would be looking for something similar for their own gates.
After ordering a trial consignment of gate openers and selling them on Trademe, it became clear there was a substantial market for these quality gate openers at realistic prices.
Lockmaster automatic gate openers are sourced directly from the factory where they are made. There’s no middle man, so you get the benefit of buying them at wholesale prices. I don’t believe you’ll find better value for money for gate openers on the New Zealand market. I’ve seen inferior gate openers being sold for much higher prices.
Automatic gate openers have traditionally been regarded as a premium product that only the rich could afford. But not any longer. Lockmaster automatic gate openers are priced at a level where anyone can afford them.
